Rough Water at Roughwater

White caps over Bondi

Awgies at North Bondi made the call early, in expectation of deteriorating conditions, to truncate The Roughwater from two swims of 1km and 2km to just one of the shorter distance. At 7:20, when we arrived at the beach, it was a good call. The sou'-easter was howling in.

Wind chop aside, the water was lovely. The wind eased as the morning progressed, but it was still the side-on chop that posed the challenge as punters made their way around the course.
